MISSION STATEMENT
"The mission of the Guilford Fire Department is to provide the highest quality fire protection, emergency medical services, fire prevention, safety education, community services, mitigation of emergency and non-emergency incidents for the citizens and visitors to the town of Guilford. Our service delivery is enhanced through training, education, planning, and teamwork. We will safely achieve our mission while remaining fiscally responsible throughout the effective and proficient use of all resources."

Tackle The Tower at Hartford 21

The Guilford
Professional Firefighters Local 4177 participated in a fund
raising event to help find a cure for cancer. The event was
called “Tackle the Tower at Hartford 21.” This event was
sponsored by the American Lung Association. Funds raised are
to help research efforts in finding a cure for cancer.
Local 4177 members,
Richard Johnson, James Considine, Glenn Mate, Rand Mange and
Gram Dale climbed 68 flights of stairs at the Hartford 21
building on March 28th, 2009. Each firefighter
climbed the stairs in full protective clothing with their
air packs on, simulating an actual rescue or firefighting
maneuver taking place. The firefighter’s raised nearly
$800.00 together for the cause. The Local 4177 is planning
to participate at the next event in the fall in Stamford at
the new Trump building.
