Quad through the Ice

On the night of December 21st 2007 a man was riding his quad when himself and the ATV fell through the partially Lanes Pond. At 1007 on December 22nd Guilford Fire units received the call to assist with the recovery of the ATV from icy water. Units arrived to find a quad partially submerged in the ice approx 200ft out. Units worked diligently to remove the ATV however due to a mechanical failure where forced to wait until the next morning to remove the ATV. The ATV was removed from the water the next morning and there where no reported injuries.
