Guilford Fire Department Promotes From Within

Ken Wilson, Chair of the Guilford Board of Fire Commissioners has announced that James Considine has been promoted to the position of Captain, effective May 11, 2017, replacing Michael Shove, who was recently named Assistant Chief of Operations.

Jim began his Career with the Guilford Fire Department in December 1989 as a volunteer, rising to the ranks of Lieutenant in October 1994 and Captain in October 2002. From 1995 through 2004 he also served as a Part-Time Communications Dispatcher. Jim has been a Full-Time Firefighter/Paramedic since November 2004 and has obtained several professional licenses, accreditation's, and memberships, as well serving as an Acting Captain. A graduate of Guilford High School, Jim attended Rogers Williams University in Bristol, Rhode Island, and is a resident of Guilford.
